The Law on Electronic Commerce was officially promulgated by Royal Kram No. NS / RKAM / 1119/017, dated 2 November 2019 by King Norodom Sihamoni.
The law will take effect six months after its promulgation, around mid-2020.
This e-commerce law, which has 12 chapters and 67 articles, is expected to regulate e-commerce in the Kingdom. Cambodia and the international community establish legal certainty in e-commerce and civil transactions as well as public confidence in Use electronic communication.
The scope of this law shall apply to all electronic and civil business document and transaction activities carried out electronically, except for document and transaction activities. Some of the provisions of this law shall be determined by sub-decree.
The Law on Electronic Commerce was approved by the National Assembly on October 8, 2019 at the 3rd session of the National Assembly. Sixth, the Senate will fully review the form and concept of this law in the next 10 days, on October 18, 2019 at the Extraordinary Session of the 4th Legislature.
